This includes all services and products associated with Lanka Book of Records (LBR), which is a registered brand and trademark of Startup Sri.

  1. General Policy on Refunds

Unless explicitly stated otherwise for a specific service or product within this policy, all sales and payments made through Startup Sri are generally non-refundable. We encourage users to carefully review their selections and understand the associated terms before completing any transaction.

  1. Specific Service/Product Refund Terms for Lanka Book of Records

As a core brand of Startup Sri, the following detailed refund terms apply specifically to services and products offered under the Lanka Book of Records:

  • 2.1. Lanka Book of Records Certificates (Digital & Physical):
    • No Refunds Post-Issuance: Once an official Lanka Book of Records certificate (whether digital or physical) has been formally issued and/or dispatched to the applicant, payments for these certificates are strictly non-refundable. This includes the fees for record verification, processing, certificate production, and any associated delivery costs. The act of issuing the certificate signifies the completion of the service.
    • Prior to Issuance (Exceptional Review): In rare and exceptional circumstances, where a record application is definitively rejected by LBR after the payment for a certificate has been made (and crucially, before any certificate has been issued), a partial refund may be considered. This will be subject to a review on a case-by-case basis by Startup Sri, and any approved refund will be less any non-recoverable administrative and processing fees incurred by LBR during the application review.
    • Errors on Certificates (Our Fault): If a verifiable error (e.g., a typo in the name, date, or record details) occurs on an issued certificate that is demonstrably caused by Startup Sri or LBR staff (i.e., it differs from the accurately submitted and verified application details), we commit to re-issuing a corrected certificate at no additional cost to the applicant. Users must report such errors within 7 calendar days of receiving the certificate to be eligible for free re-issuance. Reports after this period may incur a re-issuance fee.
  • 2.2. On-Site Adjudication Fees (If Applicable):
    • If you have paid for an official LBR On-Site Adjudicator to be present for your record attempt, this fee is generally non-refundable once the adjudication service has been confirmed and the adjudicator’s travel arrangements/time commitment have been made.
    • Cancellation by Applicant: If the applicant cancels the adjudication request, refunds will be subject to the timing of the cancellation and any costs already incurred by LBR (e.g., non-refundable travel bookings). Partial or no refund may apply.
    • Cancellation by LBR: If LBR cancels the adjudication service (e.g., due to unforeseen circumstances with the adjudicator), a full refund of the adjudication fee will be provided.
  • 2.3. Damaged or Lost Physical Products (e.g., Physical Certificates, Awards):
    • If you receive a physical certificate or award that is visibly damaged during transit, or if it is lost during the delivery process, you must contact Startup Sri immediately within 48 hours of the expected delivery date or receipt.
    • We will require clear photographic evidence of damage (if applicable) and will investigate the delivery issue. Upon verification, we will arrange for a replacement certificate or award to be sent to you at our discretion. This does not constitute a refund but a replacement for goods damaged/lost in transit.
  1. Other Services and Donations
  • Event Registrations (Startup Sri): (As detailed in the main policy) Generally non-refundable, with exceptions for event cancellation by Startup Sri or approved transfers.
  • Premium Memberships / Subscriptions (Future Services): (As detailed in the main policy) Specific terms will apply at the time of purchase.
  • Donations: All donations made to Startup Sri or Lanka Book of Records initiatives are non-refundable.

For any concerns regarding a payment, service delivery, or a potential refund request (where applicable under this policy), please contact us with full details of your transaction (e.g., transaction ID, date of purchase, name of service/product) and a clear description of your concern.

We aim to review your request and provide a response within 3-5 business days.
